Act(e) | Tim van Steenbergen
Tim Van Steenbergen (b. 1977) is no stranger to the spotlight, and this book is yet another testament to his talent. Previously, he was the focus of Le Petit Livre Blanc, a publication that vividly captured his story. His creativity and versatility truly know no bounds. He brings his shows to life with dynamic elements and music: when he graduated with high honors from the Antwerp Fashion Academy in 2000, it was accompanied by a literal drumroll—performed live on stage.
As early as 1999, his beloved city embraced him, celebrating his T-shirt design for the Van Dyck Year. He went on to become Olivier Theyskens’ first assistant, and in 2002, he presented his debut collection in Paris. Van Steenbergen has also served as the artistic director for the fashion house Chine and showcased installations at the Venice Biennale. His designs include opera costumes for La Scala in Milan, and his collaborative design exhibition with Bjorn "Shoot the Artist" Tagemose was featured at the Groeningemuseum in Bruges as well as on the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival.
